Douglas Dam Headwater Campground
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) operates about 100 public recreation areas across their region. These recreation areas include campgrounds, boat ramps and day-use areas. Douglas Dam Headwater Campground is one of TVA’s public recreation areas.
A self-serve camping facility, the campground has 65 campsites. Sixty-one of those sites have water and electric hookup while two are handicap accessible sites. Amenities include a bathhouse with heated showers and flush toilets and a dumping station.
Campers have access to a boat ramp, walking trail, swimming beach, wildlife viewing area and bird watching. The campground is near Trotter Bluff Small Wildlife Area, which has walking trails that span through 30 acres of hardwood forest with limestone sinkholes.
